195 Poplar Plains Road was originally intended to be a grand single family residence with extensive grounds. Shortly after construction started in 1929, Black Monday hit the stock market as well as the fortunes of the future owner. The surrounding lands were subdivided for housing, and the grand house was converted into apartments. In 1994, this property was restored and internally reconfigured into six luxury condominiums.
